Goshen Baptist Churched move to its current East Goshen Township location on West Chester Pike and Waterview Road in 1970. 

By the early 1960s, the church property had become severely constrained. Public roads bordered two sides, and the 1957 wing even encroached on the Route 3 right‑of‑way. Strasburg Road ran so close to the north side that Sunday School children could not safely use the doors facing it. Attempts to purchase the remaining adjoining land to the east were unsuccessful. With the church, cemetery, and an already inadequate parking lot occupying every usable square foot, expansion on the existing site was no longer feasible.

The Expansion Committee recommended purchasing new property to allow construction of a larger facility. In 1964 the congregation acquired a six‑acre tract on the north side of Route 3, about a mile and a half east of the original church. The included split‑level house became the parsonage.

Architect Ruth Hammond of West Chester was retained to design the new building. A year later, plans were presented for a 300‑seat sanctuary, classrooms for up to 400 students, and a fellowship hall. The congregation approved moving forward with detailed plans and bidding.
