Pastor J. Hubbard Morton served as Senior Pastor for Goshen Baptist Church in 1918 - 1920.

In 1918, Reverend Morton appointed the first Goshen Baptist Church deaconesses: Mrs. N. J. Phipps, Mrs. Jesse Esbin, and Mrs. Howard Supplee. It seems like more than a coincidence that the state legislature was ratifying the Women’s Suffrage amendment right around the very same time.
