Peter Gowesky is the founding pastor of Hope City Church in Sarasota, Florida, which he started with his wife, Tiffany, to point people to the hope found in Jesus and help them take their next step toward God and one another. He is passionate about preaching in ways that connect with people—creatively, practically, and personally. Peter loves helping people connect with God, discover how Scripture speaks to everyday life, and live out their faith in ways that make a difference in their communities.

Peter is the son of Pastor Jeff and Sarah Gowesky and called Goshen Baptist Church home from 1992 to 2003. After attending a youth group event at Goshen, he sensed God calling him to dedicate his life to serving the local church. He also served as Goshen’s junior high youth pastor for two years under the leadership of James Pendleton.

That calling led him to Philadelphia Biblical University, where he earned his undergraduate degree in Bible and Youth Ministries, and later to Biblical Theological Seminary, where he received his Master of Divinity. Through his seminary studies, Peter deepened his understanding of Scripture, grew in his own faith, and developed the skills to communicate the gospel faithfully and lead others in following Jesus.

Peter and Tiffany met in college and have three children: Noah, Grace, and Leah. Outside of ministry, Peter enjoys spending time at the beach with his family, spearfishing, exploring the outdoors, perfecting his latte skills, and trying new BBQ recipes on the smoker. He’s also an avid Tampa Bay Lightning fan and loves cheering on the Bolts.
