ASK – SEEK – KNOCK

31 Days of Prayer - January 2026

Friends, as we enter a new year, let’s remember that we need the Lord’s forgiving and sustaining grace every moment of every day.  So plan now to call out to the Father in daily prayer!   Here are 31 prayer prompts—one for each day of January—to seek the Lord on behalf of Goshen.  As Jesus says, “Ask, seek, knock” (Matt 7:7).

~Pastor Peter

  1. Praise God for the gift of 2026.  Give thanks that he will love you, guide you, and strengthen you for each day of the year.  Praise him for the opportunities and the challenges he has prepared for you in 2026 (Psalm 139:16; Rom 11:33-36).
  2. Pray for our Elders, that they’d remain above reproach, and be kept from temptation, complacency, and idols.  Pray that they’d be vigilant to spend time daily in God’s Word and in prayer (Peter Nelson, Russ Nixon, Dan Steinfield, Paul Yeung, David Nichols, Sean Ellsworth, Larry Smith) (1 Tim 3:1-7; Eph 4:11-12).
  3. Pray for Pastor Peter, that his preaching would be biblically faithful and Holy Spirit infused (Col 1:9-10; 2 Tim 2:15), and that he’d be refreshed through experiencing and sharing the joy of the Lord (Phil 4:4-7).
  4. Pray for Pastor Michael, that his heart would be steadfast and fully devoted to the Lord Jesus.  Pray that our worship would be filled with songs that teach us biblically to confess, lament, give thanks, and praise (2 Thess 2:16-17; Psalm 100).

  9. Pray for our Deacons and Deaconesses, and for our church officers, that they’d joyfully serve the body with the gifts God has given them, working in the strength God supplies (1 Tim 3:8-13).
  10. Pray for the Goshen family, that we’d experience deep unity amidst diversity—loving those with whom we have little in common but the gospel (1 Cor 10:17, Gal 3:28, Eph 2:19).
  11. Pray that transparent, meaningful, loving relationships would be the norm at Goshen, and that remaining anonymous would be strange (1 Peter 1:22, 1 John 4:11).
  12. Pray that disagreements and misunderstandings would be dealt with promptly, with all humility, under the direction of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor 13:4-7; 16:14).

  30. Pray for missionaries we support locally and nationally—for wisdom and courage in sharing the gospel and building up disciples of Jesus.  Pray that God would use them to lead many people to trust in Christ for salvation (Eph 2:8-9).
  31. Pray for missionaries we support all over the world—to have wisdom and courage for sharing the gospel, discipling new believers, and establishing churches.   Pray that God would use them to reach “unseen” peoples.  Give thanks that the gospel will be proclaimed to all people groups!
