Jennifer Duguid
Director, Goshen Baptist Preschool
Jennifer has been an active member of the Goshen Baptist Church community for over 15 years. She has been involved in different ministries including Moms 2 Moms, teaching Sunday school and helping with Upward Basketball. Jennifer has lived in West Chester since graduating from WCU where she met her husband. She is married to Ed and they have three girls and one grandchild. Jennifer took over the director position in 2020. She and her husband are currently trying to backpack through every National Park. When not traveling, Jennifer loves to study, teach, and live out the word of God.
Melanie Aber
Teacher, 3-Day 3’s
Melanie has two children, Ryan and Austin. Both attended GBP when they were young and they loved it! Melanie has a BS in Business Administration from Widener University. She was a stay-at-home Mom before joining the GBP staff in 2015. She worked as a Teacher’s Assistant in the 3’s class for several years prior to becoming a Teacher. Melanie also attends Goshen Baptist Church and is part of the Children’s Ministry team, serving in their Sunday School and Awana programs. She enjoys watching her boys play baseball and run track, relaxing with her cats Lucy & Pete, and most of all she loves spending time with her family and friends.
Layna Carroll
Assistant, 4-Day 3's Class
Layna Carroll attended Garnet Valley High School, and she attended 2 years at OneLife Institute, a Discipleship program. Layna is the youngest of 5, and in her free time she enjoys reading, writing, or hanging out with her nephews. She loves to go out for coffee with her friends when she is free.
Suzanne Finch
Assistant, 3 Day 3's Class
Suzanne and her husband Gordon have been married 34 years. They have two children, Laura and Chad, one granddaughter Courtney, and a dog named Sir Bentley. Suzanne went to Bible College, served as an Assistant Sunday School teacher, and worked in a doctor's office. She has been serving at Goshen Baptist Preschool for 9 years. She enjoys crocheting, doing crafts, and shell hunting at the beach. But best of all, she likes working with your children at GBP.
Danica Frazier
Music Teacher, Teacher, 4-Day PreK 1 Class
Danica came to Goshen Baptist Preschool in 2012 with a background of several years’ teaching experience, sharing her love of music with young children. Danica graduated with a degree in Music Education from Gordon College and then married her college sweetheart, Robert. They spent their first year of marriage working with a ministry team at Grand Canyon National Park. After that, Danica taught elementary music, preschool music enrichment programs and private piano lessons for 7 years in Maine before moving to Pennsylvania. She and Robert have two children, Micah and Annsley.
Sue Gramling
Teacher of Young 3’s
Sue and her husband Matt have three young boys, all who have attended GPB. Sue has her undergrad degree and masters degree in Elementary Education from Cabrini University. She taught elementary school for ten years before becoming a stay at home mom for several years. She currently teaches library at a private school in addition to preschool here at GBP. Sue enjoys going to the beach, training her puppy pug, cheering on the Flyers and playing with her boys!
Melissa Hackman
Assistant, 4-Day PreK 1 Class
Melissa and her husband, Ben, have a son, Granit, who attended GBP.
Melissa has a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from Hofstra University and a Master’s Degree in Education from Cabrini College. She has been blessed to be a stay-at-home mom and is a member of the Moms Club of West Chester.
Melissa enjoys craft projects, cheering on her favorite soccer team, playing outside with her son, and spending time with her family and friends.
Carmelle Hontz
Teacher, 5-Day PreK 2 class
Carmelle and her husband, Bob, have 3 daughters, Madeleine, Karen, and Laurie. Bob is a medical officer in the Navy; together they have raised their children primarily overseas since 2013. Carmelle returned to the U.S. in 2025 to be near family while her 2 younger daughters complete high school. She has a BS in Crisis Counseling and a Graduate Certification in Preschool Education from Liberty University. She worked as a lead preschool teacher before having her daughters, and has remained actively engaged with young children by substituting in international PreK classrooms and volunteering in children’s ministries. Carmelle is grateful to attend Goshen Baptist Church with her family and to serve as a teacher at GBP.
Kerry Lewis
Teacher, 4-Day 3’s class
Kerry and her husband Chris have four children, Kaelynn, Kennedy, Brayden and Finley. Kerry has her bachelor's degree from Penn State University in Elementary Education. Kerry has over 10 years of experience working in early childhood education but has spent her most recent years as a stay-at-home-mom to her family. She enjoys yearly trips to Ocean City, NJ, art/crafting, walking with her dog Lady and watching her kids play sports.
Amy Maraini
Teacher, 5-Day PreK 1's class
Amy and her husband, Dan, have two children, Sophie and Daniel. Amy graduated from West Chester University with a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Studies with a focus on Early Childhood Education. She has been a stay-at-home Mom since the birth of her daughter in 2014. She loves spending quality time with her family, running and crafting!
Shannon Peters
Assistant, 3-Day 3's and the Young 3's
Shannon has had a love for children from a very young age. She graduated from Bob Jones University in 2005 with an associates degree in Child Care Ministries( very similar to Early Childhood Education). She has 17 years of experience in preschool education. Shannon also enjoys being part of her church’s children’s ministries through various preschool teaching opportunities. She loves spending time with her family and has two sisters, four nieces ,and three nephews. Shannon enjoys swimming, ice skating, travel , and babysitting for friends and family.
Victoria Raftery
Assistant, 4-Day PreK 1
“Victoria is a graduate from West Chester University, where she received a bachelor’s degree in English with concentrations in psychology and linguistics. With many years of childcare experience, she is excited to transition to the classroom! In addition to childcare, she loves reading, writing, crafts, iced coffee, and traveling the world.”
Kristen Richards
Teacher, 3-Day 3’s
Kristen and her husband, Derek, have two children, Hunter and Willow. Both kids have attended GBP and enjoyed it immensely! Kristen has a degree in Medical Coding and Billing and is currently a Library Assistant and Marketing Development Coordinator for the Downingtown Library. Kristen enjoys volunteering here at Goshen Baptist Church in the nursery on Sundays, as well as with our VBS program during the summer. She also loves reading, watching movies, and most of all spending time with her husband and kids.
Theresa Whitfield
Assistant, 3-Day 3's
Theresa and her husband Mark recently moved to the West Chester area. She taught Pre-K at Heritage School in Wayne, PA for 4 years before staying home with her daughter. She has her PA teacher’s certification in Early Grades Education (Pre-K to 4th grade) from West Chester University and over 10 years’ experience teaching children in public and private schools. She enjoys laughing with her family and friends, nature walks, and trips to the shore. She’s excited to join the GBP community!
