As we walk through Passion Week, take some time each day to read and reflect on what Jesus is saying and doing. Day One is this Sunday, March 28—Palm Sunday.
Pay attention to the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecies in these events. Notice the resolute aim of the Son of God to do the Father’s will. Make note of the many questions and failings the disciples experience—along with the way that Jesus does not abandon them but follows through with his saving mission, for their good and for ours as well. And focus in on the meaning of Jesus’ death—his body broken, his blood shed, “for you.”
On your daily trek, check out a series of eight short (i.e., 5-min.), instructional videos—one for each day of Holy Week. They’re from Crossway and are based on the book by Andreas Kostenberger and Justin Taylor, The Final Days of Jesus.
And to keep tabs on what was happening each day of that important week, see this reading guide and chart from Crossway.
“The Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and on the third day be raised” (Luke 9:22).
“What wondrous love is this, O my soul, O my soul?”
