Goshen Family,
Here in the age of Coronavirus, we'll be continuing our online virtual worship services for the foreseeable near future, even as we look forward to gathering in person again as soon as it is appropriate to do so.
In light of this, our experience of Holy Week as a church family will be very different this year. It's easy to quickly think of this as a loss--and much is lost when we can't be in each other's physical presence. But God is up to something wise and right in the midst of all this, Christ is building his church, and the Lord is still working all things together for the good of his people (Romans 8:28). So let's not assume our social distancing means pure loss, and let's encourage each other to keep looking to our Heavenly Father with faith--with a humble trust in his work and his ways.
Looking ahead, then, our Palm Sunday (4/5), Good Friday (4/10), and Easter Sunday (4/12) services will be online (click HERE).
Please pray that, in spite of keeping our distance physically, the Lord will draw us close to himself and to each other in this special season. Also pray that, by focusing on the substitutionary death and resurrection victory of Jesus Christ this Holy Week, we'll all be filled with hope and with thanks and with God's peace that passes understanding!
Friends, let your heart rest in the awesome gospel truth of God's love poured out at the cross: "God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God." (Romans 5:8-9).
And also, lift up your eyes to the wonder of our Risen Savior and his defeat of death and our resurrection hope: "Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed" (1 Corinthians 15:51-52). Christ is risen--he is risen indeed!
